About

I founded Purpose Paws in order to help the disabled community have better access and support for training their own service dog that can help mitigate their disability. My main goal is to help combat the scams and companies who continuously take advantage of people seeking service dogs or service dog training.

Service dog training encompasses not only the teaching of tasks; but a working knowledge and expertise in teaching a dog how to be neutral with their surroundings and how to focus in distracting environments which are not skills only needed by service dogs.

Purpose Paws also helps Therapy Dog teams and Pet parents who want to teach their dog real world skills so that they can confidently take their dogs to pet friendly places.

Hi There, My name is Colie and I have been professionally training dogs for the past four years. I love understanding how the brain works, both for humans and canines, and teaching each how to effectively communicate while building a strong relationship based on mutual trust, clear communication, and fun.

I'm a chronic illness gal myself and have developed successful adaptations to able bodied dog training exercises which makes me uniquely qualified to help other disabled humans to train their dogs.

We all want to do more with our dogs, sometimes we just need help on knowing how. I'm always learning more and am looking forward to supporting you and your dog.
